This question was recently asked by a fan on our facebook page. The fan, who happens to be from the northeast, asks a valid question as many of us who live in Florida are not born and raised here (like me) and are not used to the seasonal patterns Floridians face.
In the Tampa Florida area, I (along with most other Florida AC companies) recommend not annual, but bi-annual ac maintenance on your home’s hardest-working appliance.
Schedule a Maintenance in the Fall before it gets cold.
The extreme heat that lasts much longer than in any other state takes its toll on your ac unit. The best time to maintain your unit is once in the fall, before it gets too cold. The first signs of really cold weather in Florida usually lead people to turn on their heater, only to find it may not be working. Don’t wait until your are freezing to find this out. Repairing a unit is ALWAYS more costly than maintaining one.
Schedule a Maintenance in the Spring before it gets too hot.
Of course, Florida is the “Sunshine State”…bringing the heat and humidity that not many can bear if an ac unit goes out. If you wish to stay ahead of the cost of repairs, we definitely recommend a scheduled maintenance (cleaning) of your ac unit in the early spring.
